Some would say my cat is very selective about what he eats. I prefer to call it “being a pain in the ass.”

Today on my blog: My first impression of the new MacBook Pro Magic Keyboard, after a few minutes typing on it at the Apple Store. (Coming from the perspective of someone who likes the butterfly keyboard.)

Trying my best to retain my confidence, but the events of the past few weeks have me feeling the outcome of next year’s election is rather murky, at best.

Rock with ocean in the distance.

Trying to get myself out of the habit of craning my neck down to my phone. Using my arms to bring the phone up to my face. Oddly this feels less natural, though it’s obviously better not to have your heavy head dropping out in front of your body.

I was finally able to catch more than 4 hours of sleep last night. Hopefully, that will be enough to help me sleepwalk through the rest of this crazy busy week.

After so much moving around the past week, knowing that I have even more of that coming up later this week, it’s nice to have a day where I can just stay in my neighborhood and work.

Fun time watching the Transit of Mercury today in Central Park. It’s particularly cool when young kids look through the scope and marvel at being able to see the Sun. Hard to get them to not touch the scope and knock it out of alignment, though.

My office is once again becoming a cluttered space. I need to find some time this week to organize.

Went for a long, cold walk this morning. Fall lasted much longer than usual this year, but I still wanted just a few more days of light jacket weather. Oh, well…

I am looking forward to the Transit of Mercury on Monday. As much as I love star gazing, being able to observe an astronomical event during the day is an even rarer treat.

Gorgeous tree before a blue sky on Long Island, New York.

At this point, there’s nothing my cat finds frightening about us. I’ve come within millimeters of accidentally stepping on him in the dark hallways of my apartment, and he doesn’t flinch at all. At his age, I guess he just doesn’t care.

I can’t remember the last time I was this busy in November. It’s getting difficult to stick to my routine when my schedule is so packed.

Every so often, I see a lone abandoned shoe in the middle of the street in my neighborhood, and I’m forced to wonder: What happened to the other one? Did this person walk home with one shoe?

Small Giraffe figurine in front of potted plant.

I really didn’t mean to get into yet another battle on Twitter with a stranger, but there I was this morning, feeding trolls again. Had to run over here to Micro.blog to get back into a positive frame of mind.

Clouded sky, river, and green pastures.

There’s something oddly refreshing about being extremely busy with work, and thus only having a limited time to work on personal app updates. No time to get fancy; just fixing bugs and making small improvements where I can.

To mark the end of the fall leaf changing season, we spent the day today on Long Island, looking at trees. Good to escape the city and see some colors before winter hits.

One might say the key to Apple’s success in content distribution is the TV app, not the Apple TV+ service itself: joecieplinski.com/blog/2019…

Today on my blog, I talk about the launch of Apple TV+, and how driving people to the TV app itself is more important than how many paying subscribers Apple picks up in the short term:
